Before departure · your documents

Tell IMO your passport nationality, purpose and length of stay first; do not post a passport number or photo in public chat. A visa, K-ETA and arrival declaration are different steps. If an e-Arrival card is required, submit it free within three days before arrival; first check exemptions such as holding a valid K-ETA. Minors should check airline and accommodation rules for travelling alone and guardian consent.

01 · Off the plane. Which line?

Look for Arrivals / Immigration signs instead of simply following the crowd. Confirm you are entering Korea, rather than transferring. Follow the staff and lane signs; keep your passport, accommodation address and travel plan accessible. It is okay to ask the officer to speak slowly. Answer with your actual plans and ask again if you do not understand.

02 · Find your bag, then customs

Match your flight number to the baggage belt on the board. Check the bag tag even if a bag looks familiar. If yours is missing, show your baggage receipt at the airline desk before leaving. Customs and arrival declarations are different. Ask staff about uncertain items, including food or animal/plant products. Do not accept someone else’s luggage.

03 · Sit down and send “I arrived”

Find the information desk sign and pause indoors. Check whether you are in T1 or T2. Once connected, tell a trusted family member or companion you arrived and save your accommodation address. Keep live location and passports out of public posts. Have booking details and a contact available offline.

04 · What can my money cover?

Choose your currency first; language does not determine currency. Check the rate date and fees, then set aside transport, a first meal and a reserve. Use IMO’s money menu for reference rates and your budget. A reference rate is not an exchange quote. Check the fare for your actual destination instead of assuming a bus price.

05 · Bus or airport train?

A bus may help with large luggage or a stop near your stay. For rail, include transfers and the walk from the station. Follow Airport Railroad signs to B1 of the transport centre at T1 or T2. AREX Express and All Stop trains have different stops and tickets. The KTX in this illustration is not the airport train. Match route names, destination and signs, not just vehicle colour or pictures.

06 · Ticket ready. Check three things

Match ① route and destination ② boarding point ③ departure time on the ticket and board. Bus bays vary by terminal and route, so do not assume a bay number. Show the driver or staff your ticket and accommodation address if unsure. If the last service has left, ask the information desk about another option instead of rushing.

07 · At your stay. One last check

Match the sign, building address and booking name before asking staff to check you in. Make sure it is the correct branch. Keep room numbers and door codes out of public chat. Let your trusted contact know you arrived, then check the time, weather and return address for tomorrow. There is no need to rush: take one step at a time.
